Spots to Kitesurf near Noosa

Noosa River Mouth (the spit) Noosa River Mouth is best kitesurfed in northerly winds and is for the more experienced rider. Strong tidal currents sweep in and out of the mouth and you need to be able to recover your board quickly...otherwise you'll lose it with the current. Beach access is limited and on the high tide it can be difficult setting up your kite.
Laguna Bay Laguna Bay is in the open water of Noosa's main beach but you setup your kite at Noosa River Mouth. This area is less kitesurfed and going closer in shore is off limits due to busy beach. With the right northerly winds, you can kitesurf all the way up to national park and back.
Sunshine Beach
Lake Weyba Lake Weyba is an awesome place to kitesurf for all experience levels. You can pretty much walk out 50m and the water is only up to your hips. Wind range for this spot is between a northerly and south-easterly. There's no bare sand at this spot and so you'll be setting up your kite on grass and then dragging it out into the water where you water launch it.
